Peninsula: I'M Really Just A Male Best Friend

Chapter 10: It turns out to be a warm city man (good reading)

“Remember to message in the group chat once you get to the dorm.”

Yu Qianjue said to the two, watching the taxi gradually approaching in the distance.

“We’re not children anymore, you can rest assured.”

Liu Zhimin brushed off her clothes and slowly stood up from the bus stop bench. The bun on top of her head was a bit loose, as if it would fall apart at any moment.

Yu Qianjue looked at the bun swaying with the young girl’s movements, and his heart fluttered like a cat scratching.

This won't do, it looks so awkward! I really want to take it apart! It’s practically killing my OCD!

After staring at the bun for two seconds, Yu Qianjue finally couldn’t resist.

He reached out and took the bun apart, the hair tie used to bondage her hair lay in his palm.

“What are you doing? You can’t just mess with a girl’s hairstyle!”

The sudden movement startled Liu Zhimin, who then complained.

“It looked like it was about to fall apart, and I have mild OCD, I couldn’t stand it. Don’t move, it’ll be done soon.”

His hand ran through her waterfall-like black long hair, gently tidying the slightly curled strands from the bun, softly gathering her hair, and then securing it with the hair tie.

A simple low ponytail was done.

“I thought you were going to do some difficult hairstyle, who knew it would just be a ponytail.”

Liu Zhimin adjusted the position of the hair tie, then brought the braid from behind her back to her shoulder, and Yu Qianjue’s mouth twitched imperceptibly at the sight.

“Madam, your hairstyle is very dangerous… The car is almost here, there’s not much time, so I just did what was convenient.”

“I’ll do something more difficult for you when I get the chance, I guarantee you’ll be satisfied.”

Hearing this, Liu Zhimin nodded thoughtfully.

On the other side, Kim Min-jeong held Ning Yizhuo’s hand and asked, “Ning, aren’t you coming back to the dorm with us today?”

“No, I won’t go back today. Tomorrow, I’ll just have my brother drop me off at the company.”

Ning Yizhuo said this, her peripheral vision subtly sweeping over the two people beside her.

These two, aren’t they a little too close? Wasn’t today their first time meeting?

The taxi stopped in front of them, and Yu Qianjue glanced at the driver. The driver looked decent, so there shouldn’t be any danger.

He opened the car door for them to get in. Liu Zhimin entered the car first, while Kim Min-jeong grabbed Yu Qianjue’s sleeve.

“Don’t forget! I want to eat Guobaorou next time!”

Rubbing the puppy’s head, Yu Qianjue smiled and nodded.

“Don’t worry, I won’t forget. Go back and rest early.”

After hearing Yu Qianjue’s declaration that he would absolutely not forget, Kim Min-jeong nodded in satisfaction, her eyes smiling as she closed the car door.

After making sure the door was closed, Yu Qianjue turned to the driver and said, “Please, Mr. Driver, make sure to safely deliver them to their destination.”

The driver nodded, giving a look that said, “You can trust me.”

The car slowly started. Yu Qianjue and Ning Yizhuo stood side by side. Ning Yizhuo waved her hand, and Yu Qianjue raised his hand to shake his phone, indicating to contact him on Kakao if anything happened.

Watching the car gradually drive away, Yu Qianjue put his arm around Ning Yizhuo’s shoulder. Ning Yizhuo leaned on him, and the two slowly walked towards the subway station.

“How was it, your brother, I, didn’t do too bad, right? Didn’t I live up to our King Ning’s reputation?”

Ning Yizhuo nodded in satisfaction. Today, he carried her bags, treated her to a meal, and took photos, which indeed gave King Ning a lot of face.

“Speaking of which, big brother,” Ning Yizhuo looked up at her brother, a playful and scrutinizing look in her eyes.

“You’re quite close with my two Euni, aren’t you? In just the short time of one meal, they’ve become so close to you.”

“You’re not going to bring one home in a couple of days, are you?”

Yu Qianjue rolled his eyes dramatically and lightly patted Ning Yizhuo’s head, directly dispelling her unrealistic guess.

“What nonsense are you talking about? You’re not very old, but you think a lot.

Your brother, I, am neither a playboy nor some kind of succubus character, what do you mean bring one home?”

“They’re all just half-grown children. Besides, they are your Euni, so naturally, I extend my affection to them because of you.

And…”

Yu Qianjue looked up at the moon hanging high in the sky, then looked down at Ning Yizhuo, a hint of imperceptible tenderness flashing in his eyes.

“They are all children chasing dreams, leaving home at a young age for their dreams, so naturally, I help them as much as I can.”

Ning Yizhuo was noncommittal about what he said.

Both Euni were locals of the Peninsula. Liu Zhimin’s home was in Seongnam, so it was quick to get home from Seoul. Although Kim Min-jeong lived in Yangsan, she could get home in a few hours by KTX.

However, it was not easy for her to go home. The company was reluctant to let people go, not to mention the inconvenience of carrying many bags back and forth to Bingcheng. Fortunately, technology was advanced now; when she missed home, she could video call her parents, which could somewhat alleviate her homesickness.

However, regardless of the distance from home, at an age when they should be carefree and experiencing school life, leaving home to pursue dreams was in itself a feat.

Having embarked on this path, how many difficulties and obstacles lay ahead, and where the end was, perhaps only their future selves would know.

So she empathized with what Yu Qianjue said. In the few years she had been on the Peninsula, if it weren’t for the help of her Chinese seniors at the company, plus her brother who, despite traveling all over the world, still made time to take care of her, she probably would have given up long ago.

However, speaking of which, Ning Yizhuo looked at Yu Qianjue’s handsome face and sighed.

He thought it was about friends helping each other, but what those two Euni thought might not be the same. To put it nicely, Yu Qianjue was a warm man, but to put it harshly, he was a pure central air conditioner type of person, being so good to everyone, which could easily cause misunderstandings. This wasn't an active skill, but a passive one! He couldn't even turn it off!

She had a strong premonition that in the future, Yu Qianjue would definitely be surrounded by many beautiful girls.

How would he handle it? He would probably just play dumb, pretending not to know anything.

What a sinner you are, Comrade A Yu.

But there should be a lot of fun to watch then! There must be!

It can only be said that although the two were not born of the same mother, the brother and sister’s gossip-loving, fun-seeking personalities were indeed inherited.

“Ah, yes, yes, I’ll just listen to whatever you say.”

She never doubted Yu Qianjue’s sincerity. If he said he wanted to help others, it was from the bottom of his heart, not just empty words or superficial platitudes.

But besides the genuine desire to help others, were there any other feelings mixed in? Perhaps only he himself knew.

After all, she had never seen him comb the hair of someone he had just met.

Zhi Min Euni, Zhi Min Euni, which of you two will first fall into the other’s gentle embrace?
