For a brief moment, the Umbral Deep fell into total silence.
Lu Yin stood high in the sky, looking down upon everything.
Down on the ground, Wu Jin coughed up blood. He looked up and saw Lu Yin's cold gaze. How does this person cultivate? How does he seem to have mastered everything?
A short distance away, Nian Xian was speechless. He should have known not to join this fight. With this, it had become very difficult for him to back out. Should he flee? He would not be able to explain this matter to Jiu Xian. Fight? Just the thought induced panic. Nian Xian was terrified of being killed.
Old Salamander was sprawled across the ground, breathing heavily. He looked around. "Are there any other old-timers present who are willing to step in? We should do this together."
There was no answer. In fact, many cultivators instinctively took a step back.
Step in? Just the idea was inconceivable. In a one-on-one fight, aside from the High Seraph himself, who else was confident in defeating the Third Boss? His strength was completely overwhelming.
The Ortusers who had been considering joining the fight felt immense relief that they had held back. They felt like celebrating that they had not stepped forward, as they were certain that they would have already died.
You Xia’s Everbright Flames and Golden Roc’s golden light both pulled back.
If the competitions for the title of Seraph when Bao Qi or Meng Sang had succeeded had both been dangerous life-and-death battles, then Lu Yin's fight for that same title was him simply crushing the opposition. Alone, his strength had overpowered multiple strong experts.
Bao Qi and his companions had considered these frantic competitors for the title of Seraph to be mad dogs, but to Lu Yin, they were nothing more than mangy strays.
What confused everyone the most at this particular moment was whether the Third Boss had been injured. Was his physical transformation really his ultimate trump card?
Bao Qi's broken Cauldron Bell should have injured Lu Yin. Beyond that, the final attack that had overwhelmed three Dukkhans should have been the Third Boss’s limit.
"Cough, cough. It appears that this will truly be the end of my life." Old Salamander rose to his feet and turned to face Lu Yin. "Third Boss, please give me an honorable death, just like Bao Qi."
Lu Yin met Old Salamander’s gaze. "I will decide how you die."
Old Salamander shrugged. "Wu Jin, Four Waters Immortal, let's go for it."
Nian Xian's scalp went numb. Why is he still calling me? I was going to run.
Wu Jin clenched a piece of jade. Blood was dripping from his hand. Suddenly, he pressed the jade to his forehead, and the stone merged with his head. It looked as though the man had opened a third eye. He was going to unleash his full power.
Old Salamander released a long howl as his claws clenched and relaxed. A transparent cube appeared in his grip. "Attack!"
Wu Jin, Nian Xian, Golden Roc, and You Xia all attacked as one. This time, they did not target Lu Yin, but rather the large cube that Old Salamander had just created.
Tian Ya’s voice rang in Lu Yin’s ears. "Third Boss, be careful! That’s Old Salamander’s innate gift. It allows him to change his opponent’s form—but only after landing a direct hit. His entire battle with you was just a setup to achieve this. That cube is you! It’s already been transformed. Any attack that lands on it will be the same as striking your true body."
Lu Yin was shocked. Such a thing exists?
Before he could process the information, Wu Jin and the others' attacks landed on the cube.
The moment the attacks struck, Lu Yin suffered all four attacks, without even a chance to defend himself. He could feel the pain of each of the four attacks, and he could not hold back from spitting out blood. Lightstream appeared, and it flickered around him as time was reversed by one second. He then used Inverse Step to move at the speed of time in an attempt to steal the cube.
Old Salamander used his body to block Lu Yin. They were already aware of Lu Yin’s ability to reverse time, and they also knew that they could not allow him to take the cube. Everything had been anticipated.
Lu Yin tore through Old Salamander’s body, only to be confronted by Wu Jin’s bloodstained third eye. Blood trickled down the man’s face from his brow. It looked as though his face had been split in two. An indescribable attack struck the cube again, and Lu Yin coughed up more blood. As this happened, Golden Roc’s talons slashed at Lu Yin from behind, as the bird attempted to slice Lu Yin apart.
Tian Ya rushed over from the distance, hoping to intervene, only to suddenly feel a terrible sense of danger from the opposite direction. He was being targeted by Mr. Li.
Mr. Li had been keeping an eye on Tian Ya, and he intended to prevent the man from aiding Lu Yin.
As Tian Ya was stopped by Mr. Li, Golden Roc’s talons fell.
This time, Lu Yin did not turn to face the attack directly. He was confident that Golden Roc was not capable of tearing his body apart.
Attacking the cube was nothing more than a means of luring Lu Yin into trying to seize it. All of Lu Yin’s actions had been anticipated by Old Salamander. It could even be said that the entire battle had been leading up to this exact scenario.
Two Ortusers and three Dukkhans: five powerful cultivators were working together after Bao Qi’s death to compete for the title of Seraph. That was what had led to the current situation.
There were no truly invincible cultivators. Even the High Seraph, if surrounded, would have weaknesses exposed, let alone Lu Yin.
However, everything that had been planned was based on the assumption that they fully understood the Third Boss’s abilities.
The talons struck Lu Yin’s back.
As they landed, Lu Yin’s body withered with Extremes Must Be Reversed.
The talons were sharper than anything else, and they had even managed to cut Emperor Wu’s body. Lu Yin’s arm had been sliced open earlier in the battle. Even so, the talons were not able to instantly overwhelm Lu Yin’s defenses, especially when he used Extremes Must Be Reversed.
As long as his defenses were not fully overwhelmed, all attacks were useless.
The talons pierced Lu Yin’s back as Golden Roc tried to forcefully tear the man apart, only to discover that his talons could not move at all.
This horrified the bird. How was this even possible?
A hand reached over and grabbed Golden Roc by the wings. Lu Yin’s head then turned around, and his cold eyes locked onto the bird. “You think that a mere beast like you can kill me?”
The golden bird was pulled over in front of Lu Yin. Golden Roc struggled, but he could not resist Lu Yin’s strength. A foot stomped down on the bird’s head. There was a crack, as his skull had shattered.
Such an injury was not enough to kill Golden Roc.
Lu Yin’s foot fell again.
As for the cube, it was completely ignored. These people had no idea what Lu Yin’s limits actually were.
The only one capable of surpassing Lu Yin’s limits in the Spirit Nidus was the High Seraph. Thirty-seven years ago, the High Seraph had completely shocked Lu Yin, but aside from that man, he feared nobody in the Spirit Nidus.
It was time to show these people what true invincibility looked like. It was time for Lu Yin to unleash his full power.
Old Salamander swung his tail at Lu Yin, while Nian Xian, Wu Jin, and You Xia all attacked the cube.
All of their efforts were in vain. Lu Yin’s entire body withered as he endured the attacks that struck the cube, but there was no other reaction. At worst, his body recovered, only to wither up again. No one could imagine what kind of technique he was using, but the miraculous nature of Extremes Must Be Reversed was fully on display at this moment.
Golden Roc spat out blood, his eyes losing all focus.
Lu Yin forcefully imprisoned the bird in his Champions' Stage Purgatory.
His Karmic Dao was strengthened once more, and this time, it was enough to overpower the karmic backlash that he had been fighting this whole time.
With that, Lu Yin turned the tables. He became the aggressor. The High Seraph would need to appear in person, as it had just become impossible to eliminate Lu Yin through karmic backlash.
Of course, the High Seraph was ignorant of this change, and Lu Yin would not reveal the matter either. He was genuinely afraid of the High Seraph taking direct action.
The High Seraph was terrifyingly strong, and he was capable of suppressing everything and everyone. The people of the Spirit Nidus had no idea just how powerful their High Seraph actually was.
His strength was overwhelming and could not be shaken.
At this moment, Lu Yin was seen as an unshakable power from the eyes of Old Salamander and the others.
They had already done their best. They had expended their full power, and yet they had only been able to watch as Lu Yin defeated and captured Golden Roc.
Lu Yin raised a hand and reached out for You Xia.
The beast was terrified, and he tried to escape. His Everbright Flame blazed towards Lu Yin.
Lu Yin ignored the flames. He moved through the sky and stomped a single foot down upon You Xia. The beast let out a cry of agony as half of his body was crushed, and he was also stuffed into the Champions' Stage Purgatory.
Lu Yin’s eyes then turned to look at Nian Xian.
This man disgusted Lu Yin. Nian Xian was not motivated by ambition to become the next Seraph. Rather, he had attacked Lu Yin simply because of a woman. This was just asking to die.
Nian Xian’s face turned pale, but he still forced out a smile. “Th- Third Boss, this is all just a misunderstanding. That’s really all it is.”
Lu Yin took a step forward, his bloodlust locking onto Nian Xian.
Everyone had watched Lu Yin crush multiple powerhouses, and some were numb to the sight by now. Even after the battle had gone on for so long, they still could not see the Third Boss’s limits.
Suddenly, Lu Yin stopped walking. His body swayed, and he nearly collapsed.
His right foot moved forward, and he just barely managed to stabilize himself.
This was the Dream Realm. Meng Sang was present.
Lu Yin’s eyes became sharply focused, and he turned to look in a particular direction. Meng Sang had just attacked, which actually meant that True God had taken action.
Lu Yin had never forgotten that True God had entered the Spirit Nidus earlier than Boundless. Yong Heng was someone strong enough to make Lu Yin extremely nervous.
The High Seraph was not the only threat in the Spirit Nidus; there was also True God.
However, Meng Sang only attacked once before disappearing without a trace. Not even Lu Yin could find the Seraph.
Meng Sang’s one attack had achieved his goal.
Lu Yin staggered slightly. While he knew that he had been attacked by Meng Sang, no one else did. Everyone believed that Lu Yin had reached his limit.
Old Salamander’s eyes lit up. “He’s also reached his limit! Are there any more of my old friends present who haven’t joined us yet? The Day of Offering draws near. If he defeats us now, it will be impossible for anyone to defeat him alone.”
Wu Jin held a hand to his forehead. His blood had never stopped leaking from his brow. He had already consumed his strength.
I should make my move now.
An invisible power suddenly appeared above Lu Yin’s head, and it formed a chaotic attack that fell upon him.
Boom.
The ground shattered as Lu Yin raised a hand to block the attack. Is... is this a sourcebox’s danger field? How did this appear?
Before Lu Yin could react, he sensed more danger zones appear in all directions. In an instant, Lu Yin was completely surrounded. It was as though he was being targeted by endless attacks.
His pupils shrank. How could this have happened?
It was not the power behind the attacks that shocked Lu Yin, but rather the fact that everything he sensed was a different soucebox array. In less than a moment, more than ten arrays had appeared, but how could so many appear simultaneously? How could sourcebox arrays be set up so quickly? Even if more than ten Array Grandmasters worked together, it would still be impossible to arrange such a trap.
Had the Spirit Treasure Society decided to attack? That did not make sense.
The sourcebox arrays’ attacks grew stronger. Their power was rising.
Lu Yin stood in place and released his inner universe. Infinity swirled around him, as did the soil of his Dust World, and the two protected him from the sourcebox arrays.
More and more space was occupied by the attacks and Lu Yin’s defensive measures. Old Salamander and the others kept retreating as the space above the Umbral Deep continued to collapse. Everyone who had been watching the battle had retreated a great distance, but at this moment, they fled even further.
There were simply too many spirit treasure formations being used. Not only was Lu Yin being personally attacked, but the formations had also started targeting Old Salamander’s cube.
The rate at which Lu Yin’s body withered and recovered increased drastically.
He suddenly looked over. His hand rose, and a finger gently flicked, releasing an attack that ripped through the void. The sourcebox arrays tried to stop Lu Yin’s attack, but they accomplished nothing. Space was ripped open, and a middle-aged man was exposed.
He was wearing a brocaded robe and standing in the sky. One hand was drawing in the air, and each time he finished, another sourcebox array appeared.
Lu Yin could not make sense of what he was seeing. When had it become so simple to set up sourcebox arrays?
He was not the only one taken aback. Old Salamander had lived for countless years and had essentially witnessed the history of the megaverse, and yet even he was stunned by the sight.
Old Salamander was also an Array Grandmaster. Given how long he had lived for, he had dabbled in nearly everything.
The greater a person’s skill as a Spirit Treasure Master, the more shocked they were by what the middle-aged man was doing.
Even cultivators who were not Spirit Treasure Masters could understand just how incredible his actions were.
