Sena was at the cusp of something, her body twisted and contorted, drawing even more power from her harrowing true self.
Compiling the genetic codes of all beings, optimizing and forcing them all to work together in an attempt to create an even more perfect being, one that surpasses the limits of all life.
But then, a burning claw came crashing down through her chaotic fire. “CALM DOWN!” Arad pushed her down, pinning her to the ground, “What are you doing? If I wanted them dead, I would’ve done it myself.”
Hearing his words, life returned to Sena’s eyes as her focus got drawn back to reality, away from the twisting genes she was so focused on perfecting.
She froze for a second, and her countless heads turned to look at Arad, seeing him in his draconic form, all burned and left with many gaping wounds that reached his bones.
“Arad?” She gasped, and he sighed, “You can hear me now? Good, calm down.”
It took her a second, but the forge flames of her magic faded away, and she sat down, her endless heads disappearing into her massive body. She then shifted back to her humanoid form and took a deep breath.
“I calmed down. But I saved that progress.” That harrowing creature she was to create had gone nowhere. It was now stored inside her, ready to be unleashed once more at a moment’s notice.
She took a deep breath and then looked back at Arad, “Now what?”
Arad looked at her with a smile as he turned back into his humanoid body. He then glared at Azorn and Sena’s mother. “I see, so your plan was using me as bait to get her.”
Sofia smiled, “And it worked perfectly, even Alcott didn’t find out.”
Arad frowned, “He didn’t figure it out because he didn’t have that many interactions with Sena. Otherwise, he would’ve guessed that you might be after her and not me.” He then took a step forward, “So, now she is here.”
Arad’s gaze shifted to Azorn, “So? What will you do, little brother-in-law? Would you side with your mother or sister?”
Azorn looked between Sena and Sofia, “My mother is the other one.” and he jumped, landing right beside Arad and Sena, “She can take care of herself.
“I came here to help my sister, and I don’t care what she needs help with. Your or her, it doesn’t matter who is the enemy.” He said with a calm face.
Sofia burst laughing and looked at Tiamat behind her, “What do you say? Myself.”
“Do we really need to be here now?” Tiamat replied, “You’ve achieved your goal, so do you need to tease them any longer?”
Sofia nodded, “True.” She then shifted her gaze back to Arad and Sofia, “My goal was to force her to push her powers over their limits, and I managed to get her to do that. Now, it is up to her to learn how to control that.” She turned around, then suddenly stopped walking.
“That reminds me, there is no one here to take you to Lola…” She turned around and looked at the countless dragons that were hiding at the edges of the seats. All of them had barely survived the chaos, and most of them were on the verge of dying.
“Ah… you over there, young adult blue drakaina. To survive this at such a young age, you’ve got a lot of luck.” The blue drakaina was on the ground, barely conscious with her guts spilled over the floor.
Sofia flicked her fingers, and the drakaina’s body healed itself. The blue drakaina caught a torrent of blood and convulsed.
After a few seconds, the drakaina stood, shaking like a newborn goat.
“See that void dragon there? Take him to Lola, from now on, you have a permanent key to the storm, and… Listen to Arad, you’ll live with him from now on, be my contact.” Sofia looked at Sena with a smug face, “My daughter always rejects my calls. She never replies.”
Sofia then looked at Arad, “She is a young adult blue drakaina, and guess what? She doesn’t even have a lair or a hoard. She was leading a small cult dedicated to me in the world, but now, she is homeless, and all of the cultists died earlier.” She smiled, “They were a bit annoying anyway. So, now, she belongs to you; take care of her.”
“Wait! What? She can go and find a place for herself in the world!” Arad cried, and Sofia shook her head, “Told you, need a contact. Sena won’t reply.”
She then looked at the drakaina, “You saw how powerful he is, so better watch yourself around him. Don’t get into trouble, or you’ll end up eaten.” She then disappeared, leaving Arad and Azorn staring at the empty VIP room.
“Hold up!” Arad yelled, “Then what about him!” He pointed at Azorn.
“Yeah! I can’t create portals!” Azorn growled. As powerful as he was, intricate magic like creating a portal to hell wasn’t something he could do, so he was effectively stranded here.
Sena sighed, “That’s just how those two work.” She approached Azorn, “I’ll take him to the castle. Merlin should be able to send him home tomorrow… if she has enough mana to move him.”
Arad stared at her, and then at Azorn, “Don’t, blow, my, castle.”
Azorn stared between the two with a confused face. How come he could blow up Arad’s castle? Isn’t the castle built so Arad can live in it? He is powerful, so his castle should be durable and massive.
“It is a human castle, so don’t go crazy.” Sena glared at him and then turned to Arad, “I’ll visit you in the castle when I get him a room to spend the night. See you.”
She approached Azorn, grabbed him by the shoulder, and the two of them disappeared.
Arad sighed and turned around. It was time for him to leave. But wait, he almost forgot something. “You…” He turned to the blue drakaina.
She froze, remembering how Arad and Azorn fought, and how Arad managed to stop whatever horror Sena was about to turn into. He could sneeze at her, and she would die.
“Denki, I hope I’m not bothering you.” She clawed her way back, taking a few steps. She wasn’t that massive, as expected from a young adult, but she was still decently powerful. Arad could see lightning crackling across her blue scales.
“Denki… so, can you take a human form? I doubt I can fly you around like that everywhere. Besides, I thought those who worship Tiamat get it.” Arad approached and she nodded, “Yes. The chromatic dragons can’t naturally achieve a humanoid form because such trickery could lead us, evil dragons, to cause more damage across the world. But those of us monitored by our goddess can transform, because she can keep an eye on us.”
Her body started smoking as she grew smaller, and Arad reached into his stomach, pulling a set of clothes. Merida had stored a full shop’s worth of clothes in his stomach so he could give Denki some things to pick from.
She ended up wearing a simple robe and several pieces of leather armor that matched her honey eyes and yellowish-blue hair.
“Let’s go.” Arad pointed at the entrance, “I’ve got people you should meet.”
