Chapter 26: Commission

Chapter 26 Commission Xiaolan was surprised: "Commission? Su Bei, are you in any trouble?""Yes." Su Beixun nodded and smiled bitterly: "I've been dragged into a big trouble." Then he looked at Eri Kisaki: "Can we find a quiet place to talk?" "of course." Hibiki Eri apologized to Xiaolan: "I'm sorry, Xiaolan, I have to work now, so we can only make an appointment next time." Mao Lilan was a little disappointed, but Kisaki Eri had work to do, and it was related to her classmates, so she responded with understanding, lowered her head and said to Conan: "Then let's go home too." Of course Conan doesn’t think so. He is very interested in Su Beixun’s commission! So, he hugged Su Beixun's legs and shouted, "But I still want to stay with Brother Su Bei!" Secretly, Conan secretly stuck the bug on the other person's inner trouser leg. "Really? Classmate Su Bei has something to do now. When he is free, I will take you to play with him, okay?"

Mao Lilan squatted down and persuaded patiently. Su Beixun smiled indifferently: "It's okay, it's not something shameful, you can come too." "Eh? But... is this really okay?" "Consider it my compensation for ruining your mother-daughter meeting." Su Beixun looked at Mao Lilan and said seriously: "Besides, I trust Mao Li's character. You will definitely keep it a secret for me, right?" Feeling the other party's trust, Mao Lilan said loudly: "Of course!" Conan looked at Mao Lilan's slightly red face and cursed Su Beixun angrily as a pretty boy. The client didn't mind, so Kisaki Eri naturally had no objection either. The four of them found a secluded tea shop, asked for a private room, and sat down to talk. After chatting for a while, Su Beixun got to the point: "Lawyer Fei, do you know Jiang Gu Yichuan?" When Hibiki Eri heard the name, she frowned slightly. She said, "The head of the Jianggu Group, of course I have heard of this person... Could your commission be related to him?" "That's it." Su Beixun was also unambiguous: "Just the night before yesterday, I went to an orphanage in the suburbs of Tokyo for some personal reasons, and I discovered Jiang Gu Yichuan's secret inside - he kidnapped a boy from the orphanage, hid him in the basement, abused him for a long time, and even molested him." He pushed the printed photo of himself towards Eri Kisaki. In the dim basement, a middle-aged man in exquisite clothes forcibly hugged a child covered with scars despite the child's resistance, with a weird smile on his face. "This is……" Mao Lilan covered her mouth when she saw the photo, looked at the child in the photo with regret, and said, "That's too much!" Conan also looked serious. Kisaki Eri also couldn't bear it, but as an adult who had been to the court many times, she could control her emotions better. At this moment, she felt that she had guessed Su Beixun's purpose, and said seriously: "Excuse me for being frank, but if you are afraid of being retaliated by Jiang Gu Yichuan, it is more useful to call the police directly than to hire a lawyer... According to Japanese law, imprisoning and abusing children is illegal and will be... sentenced!"

Kisaki Eri hesitated for a moment, but still did not say the specific punishment. As a lawyer, she knew very well that according to Japanese law, imprisonment and child abuse would only be sentenced to a fixed term, and even with Etani Ikawa's status, he might not even be sentenced to three years. Su Beixun nodded and continued, "I want to entrust you, Lawyer Fei, not because I am worried about Jiang Gu Yichuan's revenge... In fact, Jiang Gu Yichuan is already dead!" The three of them were stunned when they heard this. Fei Yingli even blurted out: "Are you going to ask me to defend you in commuting your sentence?" "how come?" Su Beixun laughed: "I didn't kill him." He pulled out the video from his phone and showed it to the three of them. "In fact, Jiang Gu Yichuan was killed by him while he was molesting the child." It was a completely silent video, showing a little child covered in blood stabbing mechanically, while the man he was sitting on went from twitching and twisting to being motionless. All three of them were silent. Mao Lilan opened her mouth to ask something, but she couldn't say it after trying several times. But Conan was straightforward: "You are an accomplice!" "Why do you say that?" Su Beixun picked up the teapot beside him and poured himself a glass of water, appearing to be unhurried. "It's obvious! Not to mention where a child who had been imprisoned for a long time got the knives, an adult was killed one by one without any resistance... I can only think that his hands and feet were tied up... and the bed sheet was covered on him to cover it up!" [Or to cover up the traces of my interrogation left on him] Su Beixun took a sip of water and thought silently. He did not answer Conan's words, but looked at Kisaki Eri and asked, "I am indeed suspicious when I think about it this way, but can the police accuse me of being an accomplice based on this?" Hibiki Eri suppressed the complicated emotions in her heart and whispered, "No. These are just suspicions, not ironclad evidence." "is it?" Su Beixun's lips curled slightly. Conan said unwillingly: "But..." Su Beixun interrupted directly: "Children, don't let your imagination run wild. This is our adult business!" Conan, who often pretends to be a child to gain convenience, was outmaneuvered by the "child" and was immediately choked. After adjusting her mood, Hibiki Eri asked, "You just want to ask me if you will be convicted for these things?" "It's not about conviction, it's about fear that the police will arrest me by mistake!" Su Beixun corrected, then shook his head and said, "Not entirely. I mainly want to ask you to go with me when I am summoned by the police." Fei Yingli was puzzled: "Why?" Su Beixun said seriously: "Because of the police!" "A friend of mine told me that the Jianggu Group has long funded public security operations, so it has some influence in the police... I am afraid that when I am summoned by the police, they will forcibly take me away and convict me... If this really happens, I hope you can use legal weapons to protect me."

This is what Su Beixun thought. On the one hand, spread the photos to make a big deal, and then ask a lawyer to accompany him just in case. In this way, even if Amuro Toru knew that he was related to the Black Organization, he would not be able to use the death of Jiang Ko Ikawa as an excuse to forcibly detain Su Beixun. The reason for choosing Kisaki Eri was naturally to let Conan know about this matter. After giving the other party some time to think, Su Beixun smiled and said, "Are you willing to take my commission?" ## After a long time, the four people said goodbye to each other at the door of the store. Fei Yingli looked at Su Beixun's receding back and told Xiaolan, "Is this person your classmate? He is too dangerous, you'd better stay away from him!" Mao Lilan was in a low mood: "Mom, are you saying that classmate Su Bei is really... an accomplice?" Hibiki Eri was noncommittal: "There is a high probability." "Then why did you agree to Su Bei's request?" Eri Kisaki explained, "I'm a lawyer. I don't take jobs based on whether they are good or bad. I only look at the probability of winning... Besides, everything is based on the law. Since the law cannot convict him, he is innocent in my eyes." Mao Lilan's eyes lit up after hearing this: "That's right, everything should be based on facts! There is no evidence to prove that Su Bei is an accomplice. I can't deliberately alienate him because of some unfounded speculation. That would be too unfair to Su Bei!" Looking at her daughter's kind-hearted appearance, Kisaki Eri could only sigh helplessly, secretly thinking that she would call Kogoro Mouri later to remind him to keep an eye on her daughter. Mao Lilan was in a good mood and said with her head down, "Let's go home, Conan... Eh? Where's Conan?" the other side. Su Beixun looked at the obviously increased progress of [World Goal] and smiled knowingly. It was worth it that he went through so much trouble to let Conan know about this. 【Becoming a legend as a bad guy】 This was indeed very troublesome for Su Beixun. On the one hand, he wanted to let those red party characters know the bad things he had done, but on the other hand, he couldn't let them catch him with any hard evidence - this was also the reason why he persuaded Ling to take action and took the video. That's why he sought the art of disguise and Noah's Ark. Well, I just hope the winery can fulfill its promise as soon as possible, otherwise, he will have to find another way when Kudo Yukiko returns to China. As he was thinking... "Wait a moment!" Su Beixun turned around. Conan panted and stood three meters away from him, asking loudly: "Big Brother, Jiang Gu Yichuan's death has something to do with you, right?" "No, it has nothing to do with me." Conan froze while holding the recorder in his pocket. As expected, with Su Beixun's vigilance, he did not reveal any flaws even when facing a child. Although he had guessed this a long time ago, Conan still felt a little bitter. Seeing his stubborn look, Su Beixun became interested and asked him, "Suppose... I am really an accomplice, then in your opinion, is what I did right or wrong?" "Of course not!"

Conan responded loudly: "No matter what the situation, taking a life is definitely not the right thing to do!" "is it?" Su Beixun looked calm and asked, "If you were me, what would you do?" "Take photos of the evidence and call the police!" Conan said solemnly: "Leave everything to the law!" "But according to the law, the maximum sentence for imprisonment for child molestation is less than ten years. Moreover, with Jiang Koichikawa's status, the punishment he will receive will be even less." Su Beixun looked at him and said, "Besides, even if we call the police, what can we do? Who can guarantee that his habit will be completely eradicated? Can an orphanage located in a remote suburb that can only rely on Jiang Gu Yichuan's funding really escape his control? Jiang Gu Yichuan can just let other people adopt the children, and then lock them up in another place and continue to vent his desires on them!" Conan looked at him with a heavy face: "Is this why you killed Jiang Koichikawa? Do you think you are doing the justice?" "of course not." Su Beixun sneered: "I never think of myself as a good person. You have such an illusion simply because you put Jiang Gu Yichuan in the position of evil." He killed Jianggu Yichuan just for a deal. Even if he found nothing in the orphanage, Jianggu Yichuan was indeed a good man, Su Beixun would not hesitate to kill him. He doesn't care about distinguishing between good and evil, and lacks a universal sense of morality. He has no ties to others and only cares about himself. Just like he burned down the dormitory building of the orphanage without hesitation in order to lure out Jiang Gu Yichuan, and wanted compensation only because Zero's death touched him a little. Otherwise, he didn't care what happened to the orphanage in the future. Su Beixun looked at Conan and said sarcastically: "Leave everything to the law? But you have to know that the law is not the same as justice, especially in Japan. It will always be more or less biased towards those who are in a superior position. Those powerful people who live in luxurious cells and live more comfortably than outside, those vicious criminals who were exempted from the death penalty in repeated appeals and were finally released for no reason..." He raised his voice, as if delivering a final blow to crush his faith: "Justice only exists in the world of children... and this country, which has been rotten to the core, cannot be saved at all!" "That's not the case!" Conan also shouted back, clenching his fists with a firm look on his face: "Law is the foundation for maintaining order and the cradle of justice. It maintains the most basic fairness between the weak and the strong! Perhaps there are indeed some unfair phenomena, but this is by no means a reason for us to completely deny it." He looked at Su Beixun and said word by word in the most serious tone: "Law is what maintains justice! If it is not appropriate, I will work hard to modify it and improve it! But! We cannot go beyond it recklessly!" I wrote this debate for a really long time, because I think that even if the protagonist is the black side, if he is to fight against Conan, it definitely does not mean that Conan is wrong. I've read some novels before, all of which are about a debate, and Conan is speechless. I can't say that this writing style is wrong, but I personally think that this is a bit inconsistent with Conan's image. So I hope to write a tit-for-tat scene where both sides are not at a disadvantage, but I don’t know if this feels right…
