Chapter 60 Padmasambhava: You are so good, Old Six Let me briefly talk about Du Bo's opportunity. Tao Tie doesn’t think it’s wrong to be utilitarian, but he says one should not be too utilitarian. Let’s continue to think deeply about why Taoist practitioners, especially inner alchemy practitioners, can practice both Taoism and martial arts? The reason is actually not complicated. Within Neidan Dao, whether it is the branch that advocates cultivating life first and nature second and emphasizes dual cultivation, or the branch that advocates cultivating nature first and life second and emphasizes pure cultivation, all of them "walk on two legs" of cultivating nature and cultivating life. The so-called life work is the work of cultivating life, which refers to the effort of nourishing the body and refining qi. It is the "Tai Yi Five Elements Guiding and Refining Body Technique". The so-called sexual merit refers to the merit of cultivating nature, which refers to the effort of cultivating the mind and spirit. It is the "Taiyi Five Thunders Visualization and Spirit Refining Technique". According to the recommendation of Instructor Huang and Elder Qiu, Tao Tie learned the cultivation method of the Taiyi Sect, a major Taoist sect, and took the path of cultivating both life first and nature second.
In terms of the effect of tempering the physical body, it is definitely not as good as that of martial artists, but it is not bad either. It is impossible to achieve the roughness and strength of reinforced concrete like martial artists, but not to be as brittle as ceramics that will break with a single hammer. After being calcined by the divine fire, Yi Tu has undergone a qualitative change and can withstand stronger hammering! That is to say, practicing martial arts techniques as well. The question is, why should we study both? Isn't this a dispersion of energy and resources? The root lies in the opening of the secrets of the physical body and the exploration and use of the physical body's supernatural powers. Instructor Huang once solemnly warned Tao Tie not to use his supernatural powers for a long time, especially his physical supernatural powers, before he became a cultivator of the sixth rank or above and cultivated his Yin Spirit. What is the deep meaning behind this? Life skills are the foundation of sex skills. Cultivating the Yin Spirit is a phased result of the practice of sexual energy. Being able to cultivate the Yin Spirit and survive out of the shell means that the life skills have been cultivated to a certain level, and the physical body has a certain strength that can support greater consumption. That is to say, the supernatural powers, especially the supernatural powers of the physical body, are used for a long time. The purpose of practicing martial arts at the same time is to use a more brutal method to make the body stronger in addition to the relatively gentle life-saving skills that focus on refining qi. After thinking this through, Tao Tie suddenly felt relieved. This "lightness" is not the lightness on the physical level, but the lightness on the mental level. Because he absorbed a trace of Tai Chi energy, his magic power soared from the upper ninth grade to the upper eighth grade. The magic power that had been a little difficult to use recently became as easy to use as before, and he no longer had the feeling of being unable to do what he wanted, like a pony pulling a big cart. This is the reason why spiritual practice means cultivating the mind. Confucianism advocates introspection, Taoism advocates introspection, and Buddhism also says, "Focus your mind on one thing, and nothing will be impossible." The supreme great way can only perfect one mind and the whole body. As he further understood this principle, Tao Tie suddenly had a new realization.
That is why the effectiveness of the Five Animal Exercises is greatly reduced without the Five Animals Divine Intentions. Why was it that, for both himself and Du Bo, it was easier to get started in practicing Xingyiquan after they had comprehended the true meaning of martial arts? The reason is that there is spare energy at the mental level! The mind leads the body and acts, that's it. Cultivation requires "sitting and discussing the truth, and standing up and practicing it". You cannot just think about it without doing anything. All the insights that come out of thinking need to be verified before they can be established. Thinking of this, Tao Tie decided to increase his teaching efforts to Du Bo in order to verify his own insights. Learning is about teaching. Therefore, Tao Tie corrected Du Bo's flaws in the three-body stance training more seriously, and explained the basic knowledge of martial arts and the theory of Xingyiquan more patiently, comprehensively and meticulously. Although Du Bo didn't know why Master Tao did this. But that's a good thing, isn't it? So he gladly accepted it and practiced martial arts even more diligently. Just when Tao Tie and Du Bo were teaching and learning well and cooperating well, a conflict started between the two of them. Some secret place. Padmasambhava, who was naked and looked solemn and dignified like a great monk, looked at the Wutong demon who had come to his door for no apparent reason and called him "good brother" all the time. He asked in a rather helpless tone, "What are you doing here? How long are you going to stay?" Upon hearing this, Wutong Yaodao raised his eyebrows with a surprised look on his face and said in an even more surprised voice: "My dear brother Padmasambhava, look at what you said. I told you the day I came here that I came to play with you. My dear brother, you have a very bad memory. It's only been a few days and you can't remember it." As he spoke, Wutong Yaodao seemed to have just understood the true meaning of Padmasambhava's words. He frowned, his facial features wrinkled, and he held his heart with both hands. He said sadly as if he was extremely sad: "My dear brother, Padmasambhava's dear brother, you...how can you be so heartless and cruel that you actually want to drive your brother away? You...you don't love your good brother anymore?" Even though Padmasambhava had already attained self-awareness, awakening to others, and was seeking the path to perfect enlightenment, and had a deep understanding of Buddhism, and was very good at understanding the mind and nature, and cultivating qi, he still could not stand the antics of the five-power demon. Taking a deep breath, Padmasambhava asked expressionlessly, "Why are you looking for me? How long are you going to stay?" The Wutong demon became more and more sad. But she did not wail or complain any more. Instead, a tear slid down the corner of her eye. She looked back every few steps and walked reluctantly towards the outside of this secret place. As she walked, she sobbed softly. She cried like a pear blossom in the rain. It's like a woman who was abandoned by a heartless man, feeling miserable and sad. Padmasambhava's hands, which were clasped in front of his chest, moved slightly. An invisible gas shield appeared and instantly enveloped this hidden place, isolating the inside and the outside, and escaping into the void, disappearing from the world. Without Padmasambhava's permission, it is almost impossible for outsiders to break in. This was the remedial measure taken by Padmasambhava after the Five-Power Demon suddenly came to his house a few days ago. He originally thought that this secret place was secret enough, so he neglected to take precautions. The same mistake will not be made again.
Wutong Yaodao was blocked from leaving this secret place, but he was not panicked or angry at all. Instead, he turned around with great surprise and asked hesitantly and hopefully, "My dear brother, you are reluctant to let me go, right?" As he spoke, Wutong Yaodao became very excited. He clenched his right fist and gently waved it in front of him, shouting happily, "I knew that brother Padmasambhava is my good brother. He would not be so cruel and heartless. He would not want to leave me and he must love me! Brother Padmasambhava, I love you too." Padmasambhava turned a blind eye and a deaf ear, and did not let the pretentious behavior of the Wutong demon Taoist disgust him. He asked himself, "What on earth do you want from me?" He looked as if he would not be able to go anywhere unless this issue was clarified. This seems somewhat inconsistent with his previous order to expel the guest. But is it really inconsistent? No. Padmasambhava never issued an order to expel the five evil spirits. He just wanted to find out why the Wutong demon came to find him and how long he was going to stay. It was the Five-Power Demon who followed Padmasambhava's words and twisted the inquiry into an order to expel the visitor. When the Five-Power Demon Taoist came to his door for unknown reasons, Padmasambhava had already sensed the crisis. In the past few days, he has been dealing with the Wutong demon, pretending to be friendly, just to find out where the crisis came from, while also making some backup arrangements. Now that the backhand arrangements have been made, there is no need to continue to endure the nausea and make meaningless circles to attack the opponent. It’s neat, direct and to the point, how nice! Bang. Wutong Yaodao suddenly pressed his hands, which were held in front of him, to his left chest. He felt as if struck by lightning. He was extremely sad and howled: "Who are you? What have you done to my good brother Padmasambhava? Where did you hide him? Give him back to me! My good brother Padmasambhava would never be so cruel to me! He loves me! He should come over now, hug me tightly, whisper in my ear that he loves me and can't bear to leave me! Call me a little fool! I will call him a little fool too! He wouldn't be so heartless, shameless and unreasonable! If you are not Padmasambhava’s good brother, who are you? Give me back my good brother Padmasambhava! give me back! " Howling, Wutong Yaodao's knees softened, and he knelt on the ground and howled to the sky: "No! No! No! Oh my God! O earth! I can’t accept that my good brother Padmasambhava has left me! Please return my good brother Padmasambhava to me!" This long wailing was truly sincere and came from the heart. It seems that there really is a good brother of Padmasambhava who loves the five-power demon. It seems that Padmasambhava, the good brother of the Wutong demon, has really been killed. After a long roar, Wutong demon Taoist loosened his hands that were holding his heart, looked fiercely at Padmasambhava who was sitting in meditation, with a ferocious face, gritting his teeth and roaring: "It's you! It's you who killed my good brother Padmasambhava! I want to avenge my good brother Padmasambhava! Ah... Take your life, bald ass!" After the roar, the Wutong demon suddenly stood up and rushed towards Padmasambhava with his fangs and claws bared. Just like a person who has never learned how to fight, his movements are clumsy and his actions are disorganized.
Padmasambhava’s eyes were blank, his clasped hands moved slightly again, and he chanted softly: “Mā.” The supreme power suddenly descended with this gentle recitation. This is one of the six-syllable mantras of Buddhism. It has incomparable power, can eliminate worldly disasters, purify speech obstacles, destroy hatred, make people convert to the Dharma, and protect the precepts of solitary enlightenment. It has infinite wonderful uses. However, what Padmasambhava wanted to do at this time was just to make the Wutong demon shut up and stop talking nonsense and polluting people's ears! For a moment, this secret place was filled with bright Buddha light and there seemed to be the echoing of Sanskrit chanting, which was full of Buddhist principles. The five-powered demon who was rushing towards Padmasambhava with bared fangs and claws suddenly became quiet after hearing the Sanskrit sound, bathing in the Buddha's light, and feeling the Buddhist principles. No more threatening actions, no more nonsense. Instead, he gradually put his hands together, as if he had suddenly come to his senses and decided to change his ways, take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha, and from now on put down his butcher knife and become a Buddha on the spot. Padmasambhava looked at the five-powered demon quietly, without saying a word, without any waves in his heart and without any expectations. As expected, just when he was about to put his hands together, Wutong Yaodao chuckled and said frivolously, "Bald donkey, you want to plot against me and shave my hair, you are still a little naive." Padmasambhava ignored the curses of Wutong Yaodao and asked, "Why do you want to see me?" Facing Padmasambhava who kept asking the same question over and over again, Wutong Yaodao also maintained his own manner, winking and making random comments: "Of course I'm looking for my good brother Padmasambhava to play with." As expected, after getting this answer, Padmasambhava remained calm. He just raised his head slightly and looked towards the sky above this secret place. The demon Wutong and Padmasambhava performed the same action at the same time. After watching for a while, Wutong Yaodao frowned and grumbled, "Why did it take so long? How can you help me find my good brother Padmasambhava if you keep dragging your feet like this?" As soon as the slightly dissatisfied grumble ended, a loud noise occurred in the sky above where Padmasambhava was looking. bang... rumbling... The sound of the loud bang continued to echo inside the secret place, causing the entire space to shake violently. However, Padmasambhava still sat in meditation upright, and the Five-Power Demon also stood firmly, unaffected. At the same time, Padmasambhava ignored the loud noise and looked back at Wutong Yaodao, asking doubtfully, "You came to me to lead someone? To lead this person?" "Uh-huh. No." Wutong Yaodao nodded and shook his head, and first said as a matter of course, "The Sword Immortal wants to kill me, and I can't beat him, so of course I can only sell you out in exchange for my own life." As he spoke, Wutong Yaodao looked troubled again: "Unfortunately, I can't describe the exact location of this place, so I can only enter here by myself and let the Sword Immortal locate it. Otherwise, why would I have to go around in such a big circle? The Sword Immortal can just fly up with a sword and kill you." As he spoke, Wutong Demon Daoist's eyebrows danced with joy: "Padmasambhava, you have never seen it before. The sword immortal's sword is really too beautiful. The sword light flashes, as bright as the stars. The sword light flashes, and the earth and the sky turn upside down." As he said this, Wutong Yaodao began to yearn: "I wish I could be as strong and handsome as the Sword Immortal." As he spoke, Wutong Yaodao became frustrated, looked down at his hands, and slapped them fiercely: "It's a pity that I am clumsy and can't learn to use a sword!" As he spoke, Wutong Yaodao started to cry in grievance and sadness: "The Sword Immortal doesn't love me anymore! He made a deal with me, but he turned around and sold me out. No wonder he dragged his feet and wasted time. Woo woo woo... I want the Sword Immortal, not a difficult little girl!" As soon as he finished speaking, there was another loud bang.
The invisible air shield that enveloped this secret place was broken. All the protective measures set up by Padmasambhava were destroyed. The figure of the female teacher of Liuxian County Literature who did not want to reveal her name suddenly appeared, looked at Padmasambhava who was sitting in meditation, and said softly: "I finally found you." "Amitabha." Padmasambhava chanted the Buddha's name and asked calmly, "Lady donor, what do you want from me?" The demon Wutong did not give the female teacher and Padmasambhava a chance to talk calmly. He jumped up and down and shouted at the female teacher: "Why did you just come? Do you know how I've been spending the past few days? Every day I have to nag at an old, ugly, smelly, bald guy who doesn't like to take a bath, calling him "good brother" all the time and asking him "Do you love me?" Do you know how disgusting I am? nausea! Yue..." As he roared, the Wutong demon began to retch. It seems that just thinking back on what I said and did these days makes me unbearable. Padmasambhava: (╯□╰) Good job, old man. You weren't like this before. (End of this chapter)
